There are a few key measurements to keep in mind to ensure that the frames you buy are both appropriate and comfortable:
- Lens & Bridge Width
The frame width is the horizontal distance between the left and right outer edges of the lenses. This width determines the size of your field of vision.
The bridge width is the width of the part where the two frames meet. The width and comfort of your individual nasal bridge should be considered when making your choice.
- Total Width
The total frame width is the horizontal distance between the entire frame (including the frame width and the width of the nose bridge). This dimension is critical in determining whether or not the eyewear fits the width of the wearer's face.
- Arm Length
The arm length is the distance from the bottom of the frame to the end of the temple. This size affects the comfort and stability of the fit, but is usually chosen based on the individual's face shape and wearing habits.
- Other considerations
Lens to eyeball distance: make sure the distance between the lens and the eyeball is about 10mm after wearing the glasses to ensure the optical effect and wearing comfort.
The angle between the front of the lens and the vertical line of the wearer's face is approximately 4 to 18 degrees to ensure an open field of vision and stability.
If you are not sure which size is right for you, you can check the frames you already have. The size is usually written on the arm. For example, "52,19,140", which represents the lens width, bridge width and arm length. The sizes are within 4mm of each other and usually don't make a noticeable difference.
